And yet another Filipino dessert that I always miss:) Of course, I have to indulge! Don’t ask me about my added weight though! LOL

Here’s how to make them;-) Saw it over eHow!
1. Lightly grease the bottom of a baking dish with corn oil. Set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, throw in cornstarch, sugar, water and coconut milk. Stir the mixture until the ingredients are blended well.
3. Add corn kernels and raisins into the mixture and blend well.
4. Transfer the contents of the bowl to a cooking pot. Set over medium-high heat and cook for about 10 minutes gradually stirring the mixture until you see that it has thickened. If you see that the mixture has turned slightly off-white in color, it means it’s cooked.
5. Remove from the heat and pour into the baking dish.
6. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
7. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before putting it inside the refrigerator.
8. Chill it for about an hour.
9. Cut into desired sizes and serve.
10. Enjoy your yummy dessert!
One of the best things when you’re here in the Philippines is you can savor the foods that you don’t get to eat most of the time abroad!

Just in case you don’t know what Halo-halo is. Halo-halo (from Tagalog word halo, “mix”) is a popular Filipino dessert that is a mixture of shaved ice and milk to which are added various boiled sweet beans and fruits, and served cold in a tall glass or bowl.
Yummy for sure;-)
